Apple Remote Desktop 2.1 has added the ability to authenticate administrators via groups in Active Directory. In ARD 2.0, this worked with Open Directory only.
For full administration privileges in either AD or OD, create a group named 'ard_admin' and add ARD administrators to that group. Bind the client Mac to the appropriate directory.
