Printing Crash with Adobe Illustrator CS and Indesign CS E-mail
Written by Lance Ogletree

Yet to be fixed bug in Adobe Illustrator CS and Indesign CS can cause a crash when users with network homes go to print. Users with network home directories using smb, nfs, or afs can experience a crash when selecting to print under Adobe Illustrator CS and Indesign CS.

This issue is related to the fact that while using these filesystems for network homes, OS X doesn't create all the necessary directories in the users' home. The crash is caused by these two programs wanting to find a ~/Library/Printers directory in the users' home. If this directory is not present, a crash will occur. The same holds true for these apps not finding the Printers dir. in /System/Library/ or in /Library. A bug has been filed with Adobe.
