Session Description

Phil Rinehart will first present on issues that one tackles when deciding what and how to script in OS X. A discussion of what can be scripted, and how to do so will be presented, including a more in-depth view of a login script with Python.

For the second segment, Kevin Boyd will cover examples of:

  • Automating activities with shell scripts
  • Creating a shell script - making it 'double-clickable'
  • Adding UNIX shell Login/Logout Hook to the loginwindow
  • Scheduling a script to cron
  • Customize Startup Sequence based on script
