Learn about Apple's Workgroup Manager application and how it can help
lab administrators manage Mac OS X labs.
Workgroup Manager simplifies system administration by providing centralized
directory-based management of users, groups, and computers. You can create
standardized desktop configurations, set system preferences, establish
password policies, and control access to hardware, software, and network
resources. The settings are automatically cached, so managed preferences
and user privileges remain in effect even when computers are offline.
Jason Prell, from the University of Iowa, talks about how Workgroup
Manager is used at his institution.
