This Webcast will tell you how to make use of Mac OS X's built-in directory
support, Open Directory, and how a couple of large higher-ed institutions
have been able to leverage support for other popular enterprise directory
solutions. If you are new to directory services and want to know why you
should care about them, or you just want to find out how to make use of
them, you'll want to tune in.
Gordon will discuss Apple's Open Directory architecture under Mac OS
X. He'll also talk a bit about what a directory might contain and why
you might want to leverage it. A brief overview of directory schemas and
some valuable deployment strategies will also be discussed. As well as
hearing from Apple, you'll get case studies from two higher-ed institutions
on their results in deploying OS X in environments with popular directory
service solutions already in place. Jeff will present on his institution's
Mac OS X integration with the SunONE Directory Server, while Jason will
present his institution's success with integrating OS X into a large Active
Directory infrastructure.
